The regal Tea bungalow of Mim Tea Garden is about 100 years old and was built during the British Colonial Era. The bungalow is located beautifully in the middle of sprawling tea plantation that is surrounded with fertile forest vegetation with the splendid Himalayas in the background. While you can see the entire Kanchenjunga range on one side, you can view the cities of Darjeeling and Kurseong on the other side.

 

Accommodation at Mim Tea Garden Bungalow

Completely made of wood, this magnificent Bungalow has three rooms with attached bathrooms. The wood panelled windows offer beautiful scenic sights of the tea gardens and Mt. Kanchenjungha. The rooms are well furnished with wooden furniture that gives you a feel of the olden times. All our rooms come with attached western bathrooms with hot water geysers, comfy beds and all amenities needed for a cozy stay. The kitchen serves garden fresh organic foods and home-cooked local cuisines are also available. The dining area is separate. The bungalow offers a magnificent view of the tea estate with its adjoining scenic views.

 

How to reach Mim Tea Garden Bungalow

Mim Tea Garden Bungalow is 20 kilometers from Darjeeling, 13.5 kilometers from Ghum, 70 kilometers from Siliguri, 25 kilometers from Mirik and 06 kilometers from Lepchajagat and 3.5 kms from Sukhiappkhri.

The closest airport is Bagdogra (IXB) and the nearest rail head is New Jalpaiguri (NJP). From NJP, you can hire a prepaid taxi to Mim Tea Garden Bungalow. You can either travel via Mirik that takes 3.5 hours or you can go via Kurseong, which takes more than 4 hours. The Mirik route is more scenic of the two. There are some local buses available from Siliguri and Darjeeling to Sukhiapokhri, form which you would need a pick-up service from the bungalow.

 

Attractions of Mim Tea Garden Heritage Bungalow

Darjeeling, Mirik, Lepchajagat and Kurseong – These are nearby towns that can be easily visited in day trips from here. Nearby hill town of Sukhiapokhri is the spot for taking the Sandakphu Trek, so trekkers can also stay at Mim Tea Garden Bungalow after completing their trek to Sandakphu. You can also visit Pashupati Nath Market (presently in Nepal) for buying some local ware. It is in the India-Nepal border area and is 45 minutes from Mim Tea Garden Bungalow. Lepchajagat is another nearby village to visit, which is only 3.5 kilometers from Jorpokhri.
